Two men have been charged over an incident in which the Quran was burnt near the Turkish consulate in west London.
Hamit Coskun, of Derby, was charged on Saturday with a religiously aggravated public order offence after being filmed burning a Quran in Rutland Gardens, Knightsbridge, on Thursday.
The 50-year-old remains in custody and is due to appear at Westminster Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
Moussa Kadri, 59, of Kensington and Chelsea, was charged on Friday with causing actual bodily harm and possession of an offensive weapon and is due to appear at the same court on 17 March.
