Two men have been charged to court after a large cannabis factory was found in a warehouse near Bangor, County Down.

The men who are both 30-years-old have been charged with offences including cultivating cannabis, criminal damage and dishonestly using electricity.

They are expected to appear before Newtownards Magistrates Court on Thursday.

Officers had detained the men as they were leaving the warehouse in a vehicle on Wednesday morning.

Police then found a large cannabis cultivation spanning two floors within the premises.

The Police Service of Northern Ireland’s (PSNI) Det Insp Kelly said “the potential street value of the yield from the cultivation would be in the region of £400,00” and the cultivation has “all the hallmarks of organised crime”.
