BBCTwo men have been arrested in connection with the death of another man in Inverness.
Emergency crews were called to Balloan Road at about 08:25 on Friday following reports of three men being injured.
Two were taken to hospital by the Scottish Ambulance Service, while a third made his own way to hospital for treatment, however one of them was pronounced dead on arrival.
The two other men, aged 38 and 21, were discharged after receiving treatment for minor injuries and were later arrested over the incident.
Police Scotland said extensive inquiries were ongoing.
Balloan Road remains closed between Balloan Court and Morvich Way while an investigation is carried out.
Det Ch Insp John Lumsden said there would be an increased police presence in the area over the coming days.
He added: “Our thoughts are with the family and friends of the man who died, at this very difficult time.”
