Tweed Valley Mountain Rescue Team called out twice in six hours

The first callout on Wednesday saw the team work along with paramedics from the Scottish Ambulance Service.

They were able to get the casualty off the hillside on a stretcher to a waiting ambulance.

In the second incident, the cyclist had taken shelter in a hut and the rescue team was able to confirm the location via their mobile phone.

As team members headed towards the area, police – assisted by a local farmer – were able to reach the cyclist and take them to safety.
