Supporters of US President Donald Trump reacted after Venezuela’s Nicholás Maduro and his wife were seized by US forces in Caracas. Some voiced support for the decision saying they would welcome similar actions in the future, while others remained sceptical.
Federal prosecutors, in their charging document, allege Maduro, his wife and son and their accomplices engaged in a cocaine-trafficking conspiracy and partnered with cartels designated as terrorist groups.
Maduro has vehemently denied being a cartel leader and has accused the US of using its “war on drugs” as an excuse to try to depose him and get its hands on Venezuela’s vast oil reserves.
