A family has paid tribute to a “beloved dad, grandad and friend” who died after being hit by a car in Kirkcaldy last month.

Grzegorz Pychowski, 74, was struck by a BMW on Dunniker Way, in the Fife town, at 21:20 on 22 April.

The 44-year-old male driver was arrested over a road traffic offence and was released pending further inquiries.

Police Scotland said their investigation was continuing, but it was not appealing for further information.

Mr Pychowski’s family said: “Grzegorz’s memory will live on.

“Let us hurry to love those close to us, they leave so quickly.”

Sgt Lee Walkingshaw said: “Our thoughts are with Mr Pychowski’s family and friends at this difficult time.

“We’ll continue to liaise with them throughout our investigation.”
