‘Toxicity’: Cardiff City fans raise deep concerns in open letter

Cardiff City fans have written a highly critical open letter to the board raising “serious concerns” about the state of the Championship club.

The letter to chairman Mehmet Dalman and chief executive Ken Choo comes from the Cardiff City Advisory Board (CCAB) and has been agreed upon by all of the club’s supporter organisations.

The CCAB warns the club is close to, if not already, experiencing a “significant shift” in supporter opinion which could result in “irreversible toxicity and apathy” no matter what happens on the pitch.

“Once again the club finds itself in a precarious position at the bottom end of the table, with no full-time manager, no clarity on hiring process and no clear plan or strategy evidenced,” the letter says.

It also points to frustrations over a lack of communication from owner Vincent Tan either directly or via his directors, which it says has left interim manager Omer Riza “in the impossible position” of fielding questions which should be answered by higher powers.
