Leicester Tigers have signed United States international prop Tonga Kofe for the 2025-26 season.

The 29-year-old, who has three caps, will join the Tigers after helping Utah Warriors finish top of the Major League Rugby Western Conference.

Kofe, who previously played American football, is the seventh signing made by Leicester since their 23-21 defeat by Bath in last season’s Premiership final.

“Joining Leicester Tigers is more than just a new chapter — it’s the result of years of hard work, setbacks, and sacrifices,” he told the club website., external

“This club represents tradition, pride, and a relentless standard, and I’m ready to give everything I’ve got to be part of that.”

Leicester will be hoping to go one better under new head coach Geoff Parling next season after appointing him as successor to Michael Cheika on a long-term contract.

“Tonga is a prop who is late to rugby but who we think has huge potential,” Parling said.

“He’s physically very strong, but from speaking to his coaches in America, it’s his willingness to learn that stands out.”
