Three people hospitalised after mushroom poisoning in Jersey

Three people in Jersey, including a mother and son, have been poisoned after eating a death cap mushroom, the BBC understands.

They were poisoned on 15 September after eating the mushroom which had been mistaken for an edible one.

They were treated in hospital, and the BBC understands at least one of them remains there.

The government has issued a warning about the dangers of foraging. The BBC has asked the government for comment on the poisoning but it has declined to speak.
