Three people flown to hospital after crash on A9 near Carrbridge

Three people have been flown by helicopter to a hospital in Aberdeen following a two-vehicle crash on the A9 in the Highlands.

Emergency services were called to the collision near Carrbridge, south of Inverness, at about 14:20.

The Scottish Ambulance Service (SAS) said an air ambulance and a coastguard helicopter had been sent to the incident, along with two road ambulances and a trauma team.

Traffic Scotland said a vehicle had overturned and that the A9 was closed between the Slochd and Carrbridge.

The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service sent three appliances and a heavy rescue unit to the crash.

In a separate incident in the Highlands, one person was taken to hospital following a crash on the A82 at Glencoe.

The incident happened at about 12:15. The road has since reopened.
