Three bus passengers taken to hospital after crash in Edinburgh

Three passengers have been taken to hospital after a double-decker bus collided with a phone mast in Edinburgh.

Police Scotland said the crash happened on Calder Road in Sighthill at about 10:15 on Monday.

A force spokesperson said 12 people were on the Lothian Bus, including the driver, who was uninjured.

Five passengers were checked at the scene by ambulance crews and three people were taken to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh.

Officers said the driver was not injured and inquiries were ongoing.

A Lothian Buses spokesperson said: “We can confirm that one of our vehicles was involved in an incident earlier this morning on Calder Road and we are fully assisting Police Scotland with their inquiries.”
