Saturday saw large-scale protests in Falkirk

Three people have been arrested following pro and anti-immigration protests in Falkirk in recent weeks.

Police Scotland said a 54-year-old man was arrested in connection with an outstanding warrant, and another man was arrested following an alleged breach of the peace.

Officers also arrested and charged a 45-year-old man in relation to an offensive banner displayed at a protest on 16 August.

Demonstrations have taken place outside a hotel housing asylum seekers.

Saturday saw one of the largest of the protests, with several hundred people gathering outside the Cladhan Hotel.

Ch Supt Stevie Dolan said there had been “proportionate policing” to ensure public safety, and minimise disruption.
