‘There’s always anxiety’ – McGlynn seeks to home in on title

McGlynn expects a tough encounter away to a Thistle side who are fighting to remain in the play-offs.

“It’s a must win for both teams,” McGlynn explained. “Because of that, it’s going to be an entertaining game. I’m sure they’ll be a little bit apprehensive as well, having been fourth position in the league all season virtually.”

Another Falkirk stumble could further open the door for Livingston. They are three points behind Falkirk with two games left to play, albeit with an inferior goal difference.

Manager David Martindale admits he will be a very interested viewer on Friday evening.

“I watch every Championship game, even last year to be fair,” he said. “So, definitely watching it. I will have my Partick Thistle scarf on. It’ll be a good game of football.

“I expect Falkirk to be the league winners, whether that comes tomorrow night or whether it comes next Friday night.”

Livingston are away to Hamilton Academical on Saturday and Martindale says Friday’s result could impact his team selection for the final two matches of the season with the play-offs the most likely route for a Livingston return to the top flight.

“I thought we had the best squad in the league. I still stand by that in all honesty when I talk about the squad numbers, in terms of that squad depth. So we’ve got a couple of players walking a tight rope with suspensions.

“There’s two big league games coming up, but let’s be honest, we’re in the play-offs, we’re second, guaranteed. So I’ve got to have one eye on what’s best for the football club at this point.”
