The partnership using music to connect with hospital patients

Children in a Nottinghamshire hospital are benefitting from a new partnership with a music group.

Opus Music CIC has joined with Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust to improve health and wellbeing among staff, patients and carers at King’s Mill Hospital, Sutton-in-Ashfield, every Friday.

The two-year partnership, funded by NHS Charities Together, also involves staff training to help make music an important part of daily activities for patients.

One of the musicians, Sarah Matthews, said: “It’s a very lovely job to come in and connect with people and play music that we love.”
