Teesside care home residents knit toys for rescued monkeys

Residents at a care home in Teesside have been delighted to see the reactions to Christmas toys which they made and donated for monkeys in South Africa.

The group of knitters from Hazelgrove Court Care Home crafted gifts and blankets for the cheeky monkeys at International Primate Rescue in Pretoria.

The idea began when one of the residents mentioned she had heard monkeys enjoyed playing with enrichment toys.
