A teenager has been shot and is critically injured in an attack on a street.
The 19-year-old was wounded in his back and leg in Manley Road, Huyton at about 20:50 GMT on Friday, Merseyside Police said.
He was taken to hospital by emergency services, where he remains critically ill.
Ch Insp Andy Hughes from Merseyside Police appealed for information and witnesses, adding: “A young man is currently in hospital with significant injuries and I’m sure the community will be utterly appalled at what has happened.”
