Tier One side Hampshire Hawks ended Glamorgan’s run in the T20 County Cup with a crushing victory by 97 runs in Newport.
It was a sharp reminder from the professional outfit of the huge difference between the top two tiers in the women’s county game, with Glamorgan suffering their heaviest defeat by a runs margin in their brief history.
Hampshire ran up a massive 201 for three in 20 overs, Francesca Sweet hitting 77, before restricting Glamorgan to 104-9.
The Welsh side will now turn their attention back to the Blast League Two, where they are strongly placed to qualify for the Finals Day being held at their Sophia Gardens headquarters.
