Super League: London Broncos bid to join expanded competition in 2026

“London Broncos can confirm we are one of the 12 clubs who have lodged an interest in joining the proposed expansion of Betfred Super League to 14 clubs in 2026,” the club said in a statement on their website., external

The club added it was putting together a “strong presentation” ahead of the bid deadline on 12 September with the results announced on 16 October.

Joining chair Lord Jonathan Caine on the panel will be two fellow non-executive Rugy Football League directors, Abi Ekoku and Dermot Power, as well as RFL chief executive Tony Sutton and interim head of legal Graeme Sarjeant.

Rugby League Commercial’s managing director Rhodri Jones and Peter Hutton, a senior independent non-executive director of RL Commercial and Super League (Europe) Board member, complete the panel’s seven members.
