Hull KR head coach Willie Peters told BBC Radio Humberside:

“I thought we started really well, I was happy with our start. I thought we were dominating and then we made life tough for ourselves.

“I was happy with the way we defended but we put too much pressure on ourselves.

“Both teams are better than what they put on tonight. Two good teams but tonight wasn’t pretty, that’s for sure.

“Sometimes it’s not how you get the points, as long as you get the points. Saying that we are a process-driven team, we are about performance and we know we need to improve for next week because Leeds are a very good side.”

Hull KR: Broadbent, Davies, Hiku, Martin, Burgess, Lewis, May, Sue, Lawton, Amone, Hadley, Batchelor, Minchella.

Interchanges: Luckley, Whitbread, Leyland, Pangai Junior.

Leigh: Armstrong, Senior, Niu, Hanley, Hodgson, Cook, O’Brien, Ofahengaue, Ipape, Mulhern, Halton, Alick-Wiencke, Liu.

Interchanges: Brogan, Pene, Davis, Horne.

Referee: Chris Kendall.
