The Albert Basin area near the Quays Shopping Centre is expected to remain closed for a number of hours, police have said.

The road closure also extends from Dominic Street to Bridge Street, as well as William Street, from Kilmorey Street and Buttercrane Quay.

Motorists have been advised by police to seek an alternative route.
