An amber weather warning for snow has been issued for parts of Wales as councils prepare for Storm Goretti.
It runs from 20:00 GMT on Thursday to 09:00 on Friday and warns of heavy snow, “likely to lead to disruption and dangerous travelling conditions”.
Accumulations of 10-15cm (4-6 in) are likely fairly widely, with the potential for 20-30cm (8-12 in) in some locations, the Met Office said.
It comes after a yellow weather warning for significant snowfall was issued, which runs from 17:00 on Thursday until 12:00 on Friday.
On Wednesday, the Met Office also issued a further warning for wind covering parts Pembrokeshire from 15:00 on Thursday to 06:00 on Friday.
An additional yellow warning for rain covers Carmarthenshire, Ceredigion, Neath Port Talbot, Pembrokeshire and Swansea from 12:00 on Thursday until 10:00 on Friday.

Carmarthenshire council said it had activated its severe weather arrangements and had “increased operational resilience with extra 4×4 capability, additional supervisory cover, and redeployment of staff”.
“Our highways teams are operating an enhanced winter service response, including continuous monitoring of road temperatures and conditions, pre treating priority routes, and deploying ploughs if and when required,” it said.
“Winter maintenance crews are on extended standby throughout the event to respond to changing conditions.”
A spokesperson for Neath Port Talbot said officers would meet on Thursday morning to review rotas, proposed winter preparedness functions and operational resilience levels.
“The council’s winter service fleet is operational, salt stock levels are sufficient, and staffing resource will be in place to ensure that the best service possible is delivered.”
