St Helens forward Morgan Knowles banned for two games

St Helens forward Morgan Knowles will miss the Magic Weekend derby against Wigan Warriors after being given a two-match ban.

Knowles was handed a Grade C charge for head contact in the golden-point win over Salford Red Devils.

As well as Saturday’s meeting with Wigan at Elland Road, the 27-year-old will also be suspended for the fixture at home to Hull KR on 23 August.

Leigh Leopards winger Josh Charnley will also miss Magic Weekend after he was handed a one-match ban for a Grade B charge of kicking out during defeat by Wigan on 6 August.

Charnley, 33, will be absent for Leigh’s game against Salford on Sunday.

Knowles’ appearance against Salford was just his second game back for Saints since returning from groin surgery that kept him out for three months.
