Somerset teenager will ‘fish for England’ after ‘dream’ win

A 14-year-old angler will represent England at an international competition after a “dream win”.

Lexie, from Highbridge, in Somerset, won gold in the under-16s England junior shore sea fishing team contest, which was held in Scotland last week.

She will now compete against anglers from all over the globe at the World Shore Championships in Ireland this November.

Her father Craig said: “I couldn’t be more proud of what Lexie has achieved over the past couple of years. Two England caps and two gold medals is just a dream really.”
