Snow and ice causes disruption across North East and Cumbria

Snow and ice has caused travel disruption across the North East and Cumbria, with an amber warning of snow in force across much of the region.

Most train services were affected, while some flights out of Newcastle Airport were cancelled with passengers being advised to check before they travelled.

On the roads, the A66 between Cumbria and County Durham was closed and there was some disruption on the A1 in County Durham.

Meanwhile, more rain and snow is on the way as Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Monday.
