Yn ôl Siwan, mae cael ei hychwanegu at restr enillwyr y Fedal Wyddoniaeth yn “fraint enfawr”.
“Mae ei derbyn yn Eisteddfod y Garreg Las, yn yr ardal lle cefais fy magu, yn ei gwneud yn fwy arbennig byth.”
Dywedodd yr Athro Paul Boyle, Is-ganghellor Prifysgol Abertawe fod yr anrhydedd hon yn “gwbl haeddiannol”.
“Fel arweinydd ymchwil sydd wedi ennill enw da yn rhyngwladol am ei gwaith ar newid hinsawdd, mae hi hefyd wedi sicrhau bod y Gymraeg yn greiddiol i’w haddysgu, ei hymchwil a’i gwaith cyhoeddus.
“Mae wedi llwyddo i gyflwyno gwyddoniaeth gymhleth mewn ffordd ddealladwy, ac wedi ysbrydoli cenedlaethau o fyfyrwyr a gwyddonwyr ifanc.”
Bydd yn cael ei hanrhydeddu mewn seremoni arbennig yn y pentref gwyddoniaeth am 10:30 ddydd Iau, 6 Awst, ac yn ddiweddarach yn y Pafiliwn am 14:00.
