Shipley Marie Curie charity shop volunteer stole more than £10,000

When Pasha, of Hazel Walk, Allerton, was arrested by police in February 2023 he said he was sorry, the court was told.

Sentencing Pasha, Recorder Simon Jackson KC said: “This was not sophisticated but it was a persistent theft at a time when you had been trusted despite being taken on for modest duties.

“You would have known that what you were doing was wrong.

“There is no suggestion that you lived a lavish lifestyle, but you stole the money from a charity trying to support people with serious illness.”

Pasha was also ordered to complete 150 hours of unpaid work and will have to comply with a curfew restricting him to his home every night.
