Scarlets: Training alone toughest task since exit – Williams

Williams’s fellow centre Jonathan Davies was also among those to leave Scarlets following the 2023-24 season.

Davies played 209 times for the region across two spells in Llanelli, scoring a total of 55 tries.

The 36-year-old remains eager to extend his glittering rugby career, and Davies says he has no regrets following his Scarlets exit.

“I played rugby and I still want to play rugby because I love it. It was never for fame,” he said.

“These fairy tale endings never happen, and no one deserves that either.

“It was always about the team for me, that was my ethos around it. I wanted to support the Scarlets however best I could in my last year.

“If that was me helping prepare the team for the weekend then I would do that.

“It’s tough at times when you want to play. I was lucky I was able to do it for a number of years, so I’m not disgruntled or anything.”
