About 30 volunteers from several groups were involved in the nearly 40-hour long search including Keswick, Langdale Ambleside, and Duddon and Furness mountain rescue teams.
Search dogs, drones and a coastguard helicopter were also involved, a Wasdale team spokesman said.
“Tragically, a find was made”, the spokesman said, adding: “Sadly he had not survived.”
