Salford park searched in torso murder probe

The force said so far 16 separate locations have been searched, leading to the discovery of further body parts.

Det Supt Lewis Hughes, of GMP’s serious crime division, said Mr Everett’s family were being kept updated on “every stage of the investigation”.

“We have said since the start that we will be thorough in our approach to searching any locations of significance to the investigation and this will continue”, he said.

“I would like to thank the communities across Greater Manchester, especially members of the public in Salford, who have shown us unwavering support throughout the investigation.”

In a statement released in May, Mr Everett’s family said they were “united in grief” over the death of the “unique and endearing character”.

“He loved his food, his garden, his music and a flutter on the horses”, they said.

“He did not deserve to die the way he did and will be eternally missed.”

Michal Jaroslaw Polchowski, 68, and Marcin Majerkiewicz, 42, both of Worsley Road, Eccles, have been charged with Mr Everett’s murder and are next due to appear in court on 18 July.
