BBCAn ambulance has been involved in a crash which has closed a major road in Edinburgh city centre.
Police Scotland said the incident happened on Lothian Road, at its junction with West Approach Road, at about 17:00.
A photograph from the scene shows a badly damaged ambulance after it almost toppled a pole on an island separating four lanes of traffic.
A force spokesperson said: “Motorists are asked to avoid the area.”
