The moment the RNLI rescued an unresponsive kayaker half a mile (0.8km) out at sea was captured on camera.

Happisburgh Lifeboat was deployed after a woman was spotted off the Norfolk coast near Walcott at 12:25 BST on Saturday.

After her rescue, she explained she got into trouble when “the wind turned and everything culminated to a perfect storm”.

The RNLI said it was “incredibly relieved” she made a full recovery but added it could have “ended very differently” had she not taken all the right precautions, including wearing a buoyancy aid and sun protection.
