Residents evacuated after fire at block of flats in South Lanarkshire

Residents have been evacuated from a tower block after a fire broke out in a flat.

Emergency services were called to the building in Claude Avenue, Cambuslang, South Lanarkshire, at about 08:15.

Police said two people were checked over by paramedics but did not require hospital treatment.

Emergency services remain at the scene and members of the public are asked to avoid the area. Inquiries into the cause of the fire are ongoing.
