Post Office to relocate Inverness city centre branch to Co-op

The Post Office has confirmed it will retain a branch in the centre of Inverness.

Fears had been raised locals would be left without services after the company announced it planned to close the city’s main branch on Queensgate.

However, postal and cash services will be offered in the nearby Co-op supermarket on Church Street, about 80m (262ft) away.

The relocation is part of wider plans by the Post Office to change to a fully franchised network, which it said will give it a long-term sustainable future.
