A woman saw the funny side, after a delivery driver photographed her “soaking wet and in a towel” on her doorstep while handing over two parcels.

Ellie Roxanne Johnson, 32, a social media blogger from Pontypridd, was in the shower when the Evri driver rang her doorbell to give her the packages and, following company rules, took the “awkward” photo on her doorstep.

Ms Johnson posted a video about the incident on 14 October, describing herself initially as “tamping, fuming, and raging”, but saying the photo he took left her “in hysterics”.

The clip has subsequently gone viral online, attracting thousands of views, and even being covered on ITV’s Loose Women.

Ms Johnson said she gets parcels delivered “all the time”, but they’re usually left in the bin – which annoys her – or placed behind a door.

But on this occasion, the driver kept knocking.

On the day, she recalled thinking: “I’m going to have to get out (of the shower) and answer the door, because you don’t know what these delivery drivers are going to do.

“So I answered the door, and he wasn’t looking at me – just at his phone – trying to hand me the parcels without making eye contact. I took them.

“He looks up, laughs as he sees the way I’m looking – soaking wet and in a towel – takes a full-blown picture, and just walks off.

“I’m like, ‘cheers butt’,” she added.

Ms Johnson immediately made a video for her followers, checking her emails to find the photo snapped of her half-dressed on her doorstep.

“I was just in hysterics,” she said, when she saw the photo.

She described the reaction to her post as “absolutely mad”, with more than 60,000 views and “loads of media attention”.

On Facebook, she insisted she does not blame the driver, joking: “Who wouldn’t want a picture of the most famous girl in the Valleys? He could sell that for thousands!”

An Evri spokesperson said it was glad Ms Johnson had seen “the funny side”.

The firm said its couriers follow guidance on delivery photos, which are stored securely, not on the courier’s personal device and “only for as long as necessary”.

It explained how couriers were trained to use safe spots, such as porches, parcel boxes or greenhouses, or customers can set safe-place preferences or request extra time to reach the door in the Evri app, “which can save a dash from the shower”.
