Police are investigating claims demonstrators displayed the flag of a proscribed terrorist organisation alongside neo-Nazi paraphernalia in Edinburgh.

Videos circulating on social media show a group of men holding up a flag bearing the name of the Ulster Defence Association (UDA) during a protest on Princes Street on Saturday.

Images also show some of the men carrying a banner bearing the logo of Combat 18, the neo-Nazi group, and the far-right organisations Patriotic Alternative and the Scottish Defence League.

A Police Scotland spokesperson said it was “aware” of the images and videos posted online, adding inquiries were ongoing.
