Officers believe one car was deliberately targeted on Morrison Drive

Police are searching for a man after a car was deliberately set on fire in Aberdeen.

Emergency services were called just before 17:00 over the incident on Morrison Drive, where it is thought that one car was targeted and the fire spread to a second car nearby.

The flames were extinguished by the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and there were no reports of any injuries.

Officers are looking for a man in his late teens to early 20s, who is of slim build and was wearing a grey hooded top and purple shorts.

Det Insp Kate Coyle said: “Inquiries are ongoing and we are appealing to anyone with any information, particularly anyone who saw a man running in the direction of the old railway line around that time, to contact us.

“It is believed he may have suffered injuries to his hands during the incident and I would urge anyone who recognises this description to get in touch.”
