The accident happened on the A7 north of Langholm

One person has been taken to hospital after a two-vehicle crash closed about four miles (6km) of the A7 through southern Scotland.

Emergency services were called to the incident north of Langholm, Dumfries and Galloway, at about 11:40.

Police said the road was likely to be shut for some time and diversions were in place but they were unable to give details of the number of vehicles involved or how badly anyone had been hurt.

The Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed two vehicles had been involved and it had taken one person to hospital in Dumfries.
