Person killed at Mildenhall MX motocross track at Beck Row

A person has been killed at motocross track in the second fatal incident in six months.

Mildenhall MX said there had been a “fatality at the track” at West Row, near Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk, on Sunday.

In a social media post, its owner Cliff Bastwick said the track’s management was “obviously very sad about it” and “our thoughts are with the bereaved’s family at this time”.

He added: “I have run the track for 24 years and this is the second death within six months so we are deeply shocked by it.”

It is believed the person killed was riding on the track at the time.

The company confirmed the Health and Safety Executive was involved in an investigation.

Suffolk Police and East of England Ambulance Service have been contacted for comment.

On its website, the company said it had a fully trained paramedic and medics on site at all times.

Rider George Edwards, 17, died while taking part in an event at the track in September.
