Part of the M1 in Leicestershire has been closed following a serious crash.
National Highways said the carriageway was shut northbound between junctions 20 and 21 on Sunday morning.
An air ambulance attended the scene alongside all other emergency services, the highways authority said.
Traffic caught within the road closure was released, and a diversion is in place.
