Ospreys have signed Gloucester hooker George McGuigan on a short-term deal as cover after losing Lewis Lloyd to injury.
McGuigan, 31, has a reputation as a strong ball carrier with more than 50 tries in top competitions.
He joined Gloucester from Newcastle in 2022, but injuries have disrupted his progress in the last 12 months.
McGuigan said: “There have been some legends of the game that have played for the Ospreys, and I’m already looking forward to donning the jersey for the first time.”
Ospreys head coach Mark Jones, said: “After speaking to George, I know he is keen to make an instant impact and whilst we were obviously gutted to lose Lew (Lewis Lloyd) to injury, we feel this signing further adds to our strength in the two jersey.”
