Warwickshire have recalled seamer Olly Hannon-Dalby early from his loan spell with neighbours Worcestershire.

The 36-year-old initially joined the Pears on a two-week deal at the start of April before it was extended to another four County Championship games covering matches against Kent, Northamptonshire, Durham and Lancashire.

But Hannon-Dalby has returned to Edgbaston and has been named in Warwickshire’s squad for their game at home against Yorkshire, starting on Friday.

The right-armer took 11 wickets in his four appearances for Worcestershire at an average of 30.36 with a best of 4-45 in the win against Middlesex at Lord’s.

He was initially brought in by the Pears amid the uncertainty over Beyers Swanepoel’s availability but the South African all-rounder eventually arrived at New Road, making his debut in the innings victory over Kent and has picked up seven wickets in his two matches.

However, Swanepoel will miss, external Worcestershire’s match against Division Two leaders Durham at New Road, starting on Friday, after suffering concussion in the defeat by Northamptonshire.

England Test captain Ben Stokes is making his return after injury for the visitors.
