No human remains found in search for Muriel McKay

Mr Clayman acknowledged her family had “done everything” they could to find where she was buried, so she could be given a respectful burial. He said his team was “disappointed that this was the outcome”.

The search took place after Mrs McKay’s daughter and grandson persuaded police to carry out a third dig, when Nizamodeen Hosein, one of two brothers convicted for the crime, told them where he put the body.

In October 1970, brothers Arthur and Nizamodeen Hosein were given life sentences for kidnapping, murdering and holding Mrs McKay for a £1m ransom.

Mrs McKay’s daughter Dianne and her son Mark Dyer flew to Trinidad where Nizamodeen, the last surviving brother, showed the family on a map where she was allegedly buried.
