NHS health board wants a chip shop to sell fruit and veg

A chippy could soon be selling broccoli and spinach along with the usual fare if health bosses get their way.

Betsi Cadwaladr health board has challenged plans for a shop near Porthmadog, Gwynedd, because it said fast food was bad for people.

It said changes could be made to the menu including “ensuring there is a good selection of affordable fruit and vegetable options”.

The restaurant would be in Morfa Bychan, which the health board called “a popular place for holidaymakers”.
