Police are investigating a number of intimidation incidents in Newtownards over a five month period, which have involved placing shotgun cartridges on the doorsteps of properties.
The ammunition was left at homes in Weavers Grange.
There has been ongoing feuding between loyalist factions in the area for more than a year.
The police have said the targeted properties either had new tenants, or people were about to move in.
“By setting these cartridges at the doors of these properties, this is a clear attempt to intimidate and exert control over others through threats,” the police said.
“There has been enough unrest in this area and this must stop.”
Forensic analysis of the ammunition is being carried out as part of a “robust” investigation.
The police said officers will continue to have a visible presence in the area.
