Newry: Shop worker threatened with knife during robbery

A shop worker has been threatened with a knife during a robbery in Newry, police have said.

It happened at a shop on Stream Street at about 17:20 GMT on Saturday.

The male threatened the member of staff with a knife, forcing her to open the till before removing a sum of cash and making off on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male, heavy build and approximately 6ft tall. He was wearing a black coat, a red hooded top, dark trousers and shoes.

Police have appealed for anyone with information or video footage to contact them.
