Newry: Police investigating sudden deaths of man and woman in 20s

Dectives are investigating the sudden deaths of a man and a woman in the Sandy’s Street area of Newry in the past week.

A man in his 20s died on Sunday evening and a woman, also aged in her 20s, died on Wednesday evening, the Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) said.

The police are awaiting post-mortem results for a coroner to determine the cause of the deaths.

An investigation is ongoing and the PSNI has urged people not to speculate about the deaths.

District Commander for Newry, Mourne and Down, Superintendent Norman Haslett said the PSNI would “fully investigate the circumstances surrounding this loss of life, and send our sympathies to the families and friends of those involved”.
