Netflix Introduces New Ad-Free Gaming App for Kids

Netflix is rolling out a new gaming app called Netflix Playground, a place for children to play games inspired by the streamer’s kid-friendly programming lineup, including popular titles like Sesame Street and Peppa Pig. Netflix Playground is now available for download in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, the Philippines and New Zealand. It’ll launch globally on April 28.

All the titles are available for offline play, are ad-free and feature no in-app purchases or extra fees, along with Netflix’s parental controls to help ensure a safe gaming experience. That means no worrying about your little one running up a $500 bill on in-game extras.

“We’re building a world where kids can not only watch their favorite stories, they can step inside them and interact with their favorite characters,” said John Derderian, Netflix’s vice president of animation series and kids TV. “We’re creating a seamless destination for discovery, learning and play.”

Games include Playtime With Peppa Pig, Sesame Street, Dr. Seuss’s Horton!, Storybots, Dr. Seuss’s The Sneetches, Bad Dinosaurs, Dr. Seuss’s Red Fish, Blue Fish, and Let’s Color. They’re available to play right now.

The new gaming app is designed for kids 8 and under and is included with all of the streamer’s subscription tiers. All you need to do is download the app to the mobile device of your choosing and sign in to your Netflix account to gain access to the game library.
