A man has been arrested after a Nazi flag was tied to a wire over a street in a village.

South Wales Police officers were called at about 07:00 GMT on Friday to reports that a swastika flag had been hung above Bailey Street in Ton Pentre, Rhondda Cynon Taf.

A 52-year old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially aggravated public disorder and is in custody.

Rhondda MP Chris Bryant called the incident “especially sick coming weeks before the 80th anniversary of VE Day when we celebrate the defeat of Nazism”.
