Murder charge over fatal house fire in Wolverhampton

A man has been charged with murder after a house fire in Wolverhampton in June.

Dale Francis, 36, from Basford, Stoke-on-Trent also faces four charges of attempted murder and one of arson with intent to endanger life in relation to the incident on Plascom Road, East Park.

Akashdeep Singh, 26, died in hospital on 25 June following the fire in the early hours of that day, and other people in the house were also seriously injured, said West Midlands Police.

Mr Francis was due to appear before Wolverhampton Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
