Motorcyclist dies in Northampton after crash with ambulance

A motorcyclist died after he was involved in a collision with an ambulance responding to an emergency.

The man, in his 40s, was struck by the East Midlands Ambulance Service vehicle in Mereway, Northampton, at 07:25 BST.

An investigation by Northamptonshire Police was subsequently launched after the Suzuki motorcycle rider died at the scene.

“Our thoughts are with their family and friends at this very difficult time, and we offer our sincere condolences,” said Keeley Sheldon, of the ambulance service.
